About the event
Where the Wild Things Are - Forest School Fun!Â
Make a woodland crown, create your own clay beast, build a twig boat, explore the wild, and listen to the story of where the wild things are around the campfire with a toasted marshmallow!
Forest School is a child centred learning approach and is a wonderful way to help nurture your child’s learning and development.
Set in a secure outdoor area, our forest school sessions offer little ones the opportunity to play and explore freely. We know play is incredibly important, and we take this very seriously! Our sessions are loosely structured, offering nature inspired play opportunities, singing, crafts, stories and a campfire snack.
The foundations of our forest school are built on our four values,
- Nature connection providing little ones a multi-sensory experience and helping to plant a seed of curiosity and love for our planet.
- Child Centred. We know that lifelong learning, behaviour, and health starts in the early years. We want every child to know how valued and special they are!
- Play inspired! Learning through play helps to spark creativity and imagination, encourages communication and helps to regulate emotions, making sense of the world around them.
- Community Focused, building a supportive and encouraging community, driven by kindness and inclusivity, because everyone needs a friend and safe space.
We believe that resilient children are happy children and getting them out in nature is truly a great way to build resilience, nurture your child’s holistic development and be part a supportive and welcoming community.
