About the event

What is Hoglet and Twig Tots?

Hoglet and Twig Tots provides outdoor stay and play sessions in a private and secure woodland in Oxfordshire suitable for little ones who are walking, up to five years of age. Our sessions, and everything we do, is centred around our four key values, including,

Nature connection…

Nature provides little ones a multi-sensory experience, helping to build brains and bodies, improving both physical and mental health.

Child Centred…

We recognise that lifelong learning, behaviour, and health starts in the early years. We want every child to know how valued and special they are!

Play inspired…

Learning through play helps to spark creativity and imagination, communication, regulate emotions, and make sense of the world around them.

Community Focused…

Building a supportive and encouraging community, driven by kindness and inclusivity, because everyone needs a friend and safe space.

What happens at each session?

We really want to help encourage little ones to direct their own learning, so we offer a very loose and casual structure. Each week there are different natural play invitations for little ones to engage with and explore including, bug hunting, pond dipping, a mud kitchen, water play, etc.

We start each session with our own welcome song and play with musical instruments.

We also take snack time VERY seriously, so offer little ones the opportunity to toast a snack over the campfire, or if they prefer they can snuggle up with a hot chocolate and marshmallows!
